The jury found Hunter Biden guilty on three felony charges.
President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter, was found guilty of 3 felony counts related to his purchase of a gun in Delaware in 2018. He had claimed on the federal form at the time that he was neither addicted to nor using drugs. His attorney maintained during the trial that his client had been in recovery for crack cocaine addiction and not actively using.
President Biden has said that he would not pardon his son, but has been supportive of him, stating that he is “so proud of the man” Hunter is now. The president said, “So many families who have had loved ones battle addiction understand the feeling of pride seeing someone you love come out the other side and be so strong and resilient in recovery.”
President Biden added, “I will accept the outcome of this case and will continue to respect the judicial process as Hunter considers an appeal.”
The president’s son said after the verdict, “I am more grateful today for the love and support I experienced this last week from Melissa, my family, my friends, and my community than I am disappointed by the outcome.”
This is the first time the child of a sitting president has faced a criminal trial or been criminally convicted.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the president and first lady as they deal with the conviction of their son.
- For the president’s son to continue to maintain sobriety.
- For parents across the U.S. whose children are struggling with addiction.
- For God to draw those who are addicted to opioids to recovery programs.
